Scratch Day with Saturday Kids

Scratch Day with Saturday Kids

In collaboration with Saturday Kids, Google and IDA Singapore, the Singapore Committee for UN Women held a workshop for children to learn the basics of programming through Scratch. Scratch is a free programming language and online community for children to create their own interactive stories, games, and animations.

The workshop was led and facilitated by Saturday Kids employees (about 1 adult to 5 children), who guided the children to add instructions for their animations, such as characters, movements, speech bubbles, music, backgrounds and changes of scenes, and helped them with any difficulty faced every step of the way.

A great variety of tableaus and animations were created by the children (some of whom created more than one), and it was a fun day for everyone.
